In the first leg of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup semifinal, held at Zabeel Stadium, Al Wasl secured a 1-0 victory over Al Jazira.

The first half saw an average performance from both teams, with Al Wasl’s Ali Saleh coming closest to scoring in the 31st minute with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, which was saved by Al Jazira’s goalkeeper.

In the second half, Japanese player Takashi Uchino almost put Al Wasl ahead with a strong strike in the 54th minute, but the ball deflected off Al Jazira’s goalkeeper.

The winning goal came in the 90th minute, when Nicolas Gimenez found the net after a rebound from the goalkeeper following a powerful shot by João Pedro.
