Al Wasl Football Club has announced the completion of the signing of Brazilian striker João Pedro to represent the first-team football squad, joining from Saudi Arabian club Al-Taawoun FC.

Pedro has an impressive professional career, having started his football journey in Brazil with Atletico Ferroviário in 2011, before moving to Palmeiras B in 2013. He then ventured to Europe, where he played for Santa Clara and Trofense in Portugal. He returned to Brazil to play for Fortaleza before heading back to Europe, playing for Rayo Majadahonda and Mexico FC in Spain.
In 2017, Pedro joined Al Fateh in Saudi Arabia. In 2019, he moved to Al Dhafra in the UAE, and was loaned to Bani Yas during the 2020-2021 season. After his loan ended, he signed with Al Wahda in 2021 for two seasons, winning the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup in the 2023-2024 season. He also played for Al Taawoun in the Saudi Pro League, where he scored 27 goals.
