Al Wasl defeated its host Al Nasr with a 1-0 victory in the Bur Dubai Derby, which took place this evening, Friday, at Al Maktoum Stadium in the 16th round of ADNOC Pro League.
The first half started with high intensity from both teams. Al Wasl's most dangerous chance came in the 11th minute when Ali Saleh’s header, from a cross by Abdelrahman Saleh, was saved by Al Nasr’s goalkeeper.
In the 42nd minute, Nicolas Gimenez scored the only goal of the match after exchanging passes with Joao Pedro inside Al Nasr’s penalty area. He then struck the ball powerfully into the net, marking his 30th goal in the ADNOC Pro League.
In the second half, Al Nasr attempted to equalize, but the solid defense and the outstanding performance of goalkeeper Khaled Al Senani prevented them from scoring.
