In the first leg of the Round of 16 in the AFC Champions League Elite for the 2024-2025 season, at Zabeel Stadium, Al Wasl drew with visiting Al Sadd of Qatar 1-1.

Ali Saleh opened the scoring for Al Wasl in the third minute, after a header by Fabio Lima following a corner kick, which reached Ali Saleh, who dribbled past the defense and shot it into the Al Sadd goal, giving the Emperor the lead.

In the second half, Al Sadd equalized through Abdullah Al Yazidi in the 68th minute.

The two teams will now await the return match in Doha next Monday, the 10th of this month, to decide which team will advance to the quarterfinals of the competition.
