Al Wasl losses against Al Wahda in the 17th round of AP League

Al Wasl lost to Al Wahda 2-1 at Al Nahyan Stadium, in the 17th round of the ADNOC Pro League.

The emperor started the game with high pressure on the defenders of Al Wahda, in an attempt to surprise the home team, and almost opened the scoring in the first 15 minutes through Michel Araujo, who penetrated the ball from the defenders and tried to dodge the goalkeeper, before the referee calculated it’s offside, in the 27th minute the home team open the scoring through Omar Khirbin who took advantage of a mistake in the defensive positioning of the emperor's players.

The two teams exchanged control of the midfield until the end of the first half but without real danger to the goalkeepers.

At the start of the second half, Odier Hillman made the first substitutions with Ghanem Ahmed in place of Habush Saleh, and the emperor pressed the home side furiously to score the equaliser in the 62nd minute through Brazilian Gilberto, from a penalty awarded by the referee after Al Wahda defender blocked Michel Araujo.

In the 69th minute a quick counterattack of the yellow team reached the golden boy who dodged the defender of Al Wahda with high skill, to have to block it in the penalty area, to count the referee of the meeting a second penalty to arrive, but wasted by Brazilian Gilberto Oliveira to keep the result in a positive draw 1-1 between the two teams.

In the 74th minute, Al Wahda advanced with the second goal through Omar Khirbin, who was unattended from a powerful shot inside the penalty area that inhabited the left corner of the goalkeeper Ibrahim Issa, Al Wasl tried to return in the meeting and Hillman made two substitutions in the 79th minute with the entry of Jefferson Douglas and Abdulrahman Saleh, at the expense of Hassan Ibrahim and Abdullah Khamis, to activate the offensive aspect of the team, followed by another switch to enter AlAkbari instead of Gilberto Oliveira in the 86th minute, to end the meeting by Al Wasl 2-1 loss.
